Who is Brigitte Gledhill?
Born in a London suburb as NHS baby #14,815,513 at some point towards the end in the last Millennium, I grew up bilingual in English and German thanks to my British father and Austrian mother – and multicultural, given that my formative years were mostly spent first in Malaysia and then in the United Arab Emirates. I returned to the UK as a teenager and went on to study French and German at the University of Bath, before working in international air cargo for more than 21 years, based in London, Frankfurt, and (from 2001) Vienna. My career allowed me to travel the world (which is perfect, when you are a “Third Culture Kid”) and gain experience in all areas of a huge global company – including product development, production, flight operations, partnership management, marketing, sales steering, project management, virtual team steering, customer service experience, and moderating/presenting to international audiences.
Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway®
In 2017, I “felt the fear and did it anyway”, moving from a multinational corporation to a year of learning, re-design and re-focus, and in 2018 officially launched www.kopfpilot.at offering my services as multicultural Life Coach, Trainer and Translator.
My personal and business background is as multifaceted as my interests: I make full use of the wide range of cultural activities on offer here in Vienna - both as a concert/theatre-goer in the audience as well as a choir-member on stage, and am a self-confessed “course-junkie”, so you can expect to find me in workshops and courses learning how to make pralines, soap, felt slippers, Christmas biscuits and so on.
